The good news is that a lot of free Sence training in Chile is designed to work on mobile. This FAQ answers the practical questions people ask most about studying from a smartphone – what works well, what is easier on a computer, and how to avoid common frustrations.
Can I really do a whole course on my phone?
For many self-paced e-learning courses, yes. Video lessons, reading material, quizzes and simple assessments generally display fine on a modern smartphone, so you can study on the bus, on a break, or at home without a computer. That said, some activities are noticeably easier on a larger screen. Courses that involve spreadsheets, detailed document work, or coding are more comfortable – and sometimes more reliable – on a computer. Where the device matters, the course description usually says so, so read it before you enrol.
Is it genuinely free, with no hidden cost?
Yes. State-funded courses through Sence are free for the participant. You do not pay to enrol, to study, or to receive your certificate of completion. There is no subscription and no fee at the end. The one thing to watch for is a third party charging you to register – official enrolment is always free, so treat any request for a sign-up fee as a red flag. The only real cost to you is your mobile data and your time.

What do I need to get started on mobile?
- A smartphone with a reasonably current browser or the relevant app.
- Your ClaveUnica login details (see our step-by-step enrolment guide for how to create one).
- A stable internet connection – Wi-Fi is best for video-heavy lessons to save on data.
- An email address you check regularly, for confirmations and your certificate.
How do I manage data usage?
Video lessons use the most data. To keep costs down, download materials over Wi-Fi where the platform allows it, and lower video quality if you are on mobile data. Studying in shorter, regular sessions on Wi-Fi at home or in a public library is a practical way to complete a course without a large data bill.
Will I lose my progress if I switch devices?
Because your progress is tied to your account, you can usually start a lesson on your phone and continue later on a computer, or the other way round. Always let a module finish saving before you close the app, and avoid switching devices in the middle of a timed assessment. When in doubt, complete assessments in one sitting on whichever device is most reliable for you.
How do I get my certificate on a phone?
Once you pass the final assessment, the certificate of completion is typically available to download from your account or arrives by email. On a phone, save the file to your device and, ideally, to a cloud account so you have a backup. From there you can attach it to job applications or add the course to your LinkedIn profile directly from mobile. What if the platform does not work properly on my phone?
If a page will not load or a video will not play, try the usual fixes first: switch between the app and the browser, clear the browser cache, update your browser or app, or move to a stronger connection. If a specific course simply does not behave on mobile, that is often a sign it was built with a computer in mind – consider borrowing or using a shared computer, for example at a public library, for that particular course.
