The Canada Child Benefit went up again in July 2026. For a family with a young child and modest income, it is worth more than $8,000 a year, tax-free.
Here is how much you can get from July 2026 to June 2027, when it is paid and which provincial benefits can come with it.
Key takeaways
- CCB payments are not taxable and you don’t report them on your tax return.
- The amount is recalculated every July from the previous year’s income, so file your tax return every year.
- Payments shrink gradually as income rises above $38,237.
- Applying is free, and the CRA also checks you for related provincial programs.
